Applying for a Power
Superhuman is a sandbox roleplay forum, so you will not be heavily restricted in your power selection or forced to choose from a small list of DC or Marvel-inspired basic powers. Instead, you get to make up all of your powers. However, in order to allow characters to develop over the course of the game you start out with five Superpower Slots with the opportunity to earn more later, capped at 100. Sidekicks are capped at 20 Superpower Slots.
Each power will take up at least one Superpower Slot, usually more.
1 Slot - An above-average human could use these. Things like low-level super strength or lesser advanced technology.
2 Slots - Just above the level a human could be capable of. Things like superhuman speed, useful mutations, weak illusions, etc. ALL MAGIC AND EXOSKELETON ARMOR MUST USE AT LEAST TWO SLOTS.
3 Slots - Somewhat higher than a human could be capable of. OFFENSIVE POWERS LIKE PSIONIC WEAPONS OR BEAM ATTACKS MUST USE AT LEAST THREE SLOTS.
5 Slots - Much higher than a human could be capable of, standard powers like you might find in the repertoire of a supporting Marvel or DC character. BINDING POWERS MUST USE AT LEAST FIVE SLOTS.
10 Slots - Powers which you might find in the repertoire of a Marvel or DC main character. KILLING POWERS MUST USE AT LEAST TEN SLOTS.
25 Slots - Godlike powers. The only restriction is they cannot kill without offering some opportunity for evading death.
Note the above guidelines are the bare minimum. Most powers will probably have additional details which will require additional Superpower Slots. Batman's Batarangs might qualify for the baseline 3 slots but they can return to him and be used as knives so they might actually require 5 or six slots.
The only real limits are skills which allow your character to kill another character without any chance for a save. (You would be allowed to have a gorgon attack skill which can be reversed or a leave a character for dead thus giving his or her team mates a chance to save him or her, but you can't have a wide-angle disintegration ray which instantly slays everything in its path.)
First make a thread in Superpower Applications named "(Yournamehere)'s Superpower Application" and paste the code below into it, and then customize it. A moderator will either approve the skill and tell you how many Superpower Slots it will take up, or will tell you to fix it. When you want to apply for a new power, simply make another post in your thread.
Once a power is approved, make another thread in Superpower Database and post your approved powers as you get them. You can only have a power if you have enough Superpower Slots for it.
There are three types of powers:
Technology - Bionic implants, highly advanced weapons, exoskeleton armors, powerful gadgets, etc.
Biological - Mutations, natural alien abilities, psionics, physical feats, etc.
Supernatural - Magic, illusions, unexplainable powers, etc.
Use these to help better refine your power creation process.

- Code:
[b]Power Name:[/b] This could be something as simple as Super Strength or something fancy sounding like Positron Beam.
[b]Category:[/b] Technology, Biological, or Supernatural.
[b]Description:[/b] Explain IN DETAIL what the power does. Explain as well you can how it works, when you can use it, its appearance, etc. At least 100 words unless the skill is extremely simple.
[b]Limits:[/b] Explain the limits of the power and why. Don't just say "It can't blow up metal," explain WHY it can't blow up metal. Be creative!

Re: Applying for a Power
If a power adds to another power, would the point cost be reduced? for example, a power which adds automatic feeding to a mask that already provides water breathing?

Re: Applying for a Power
The original power could probably just be modified by adding a point or two to it.
