[Lady Noctia]

Lady Noctia squinted her eyes open.
Hospital?
Where in the world was she...?

A girl sat next to her bed, watching her.
Lovely. One of those do-gooders. At least she doesn't feel like one of those big-shots...

Somewhat preoccupied with the earlier events of the day, Noctia groggily murmured, "where am I...?"

"DOTE headquarters... but don't worry, as soon as your ready I'm showing you right to the door. Can't have any more strangers wandering around stealing energy cells and making a fool out of these people." Akai sighed, "I'll be heading out anyways, I don't really belong here, or anywhere really."
She forced a smile, "Well enough about me, how are you feeling?"

[Lady Noctia]

DOTE headquarters. Great. The very nest of do-goodness itself.

"Hmm. Well, I'd be more than ready to be shown to the door if I wasn't broken in half a dozen places or whatever. How badly am I hurt?" she grunted.

She really hoped that she wasn't seriously injured... she couldn't stand the idea of being stuck in this... perfectly clean and orderly space for long.

Lady Noctia couldn't help but take a bit of a liking to the girl. She wasn't the proud sort like most are.

"Where are you heading after this?"

[Akai Kaji]

"You're not hurt too badly as far as I can tell, a few broken ribs and some bruises and that's all," Akai frowned, sinking back deeply into the small chair, "Where am I going after this? Anywhere but Grimm City and that's about it."
Akai shook her head, standing and walking towards a window, leaning on the sill and staring out over the city, "It all looks so busy and warm from here doesn't it? The city feels like a welcoming place... but deep down you know it could never be home, deep down, it's just another rut in the road. Where will the road take me? How deep is this rut? Will I ever move on?" Akai caught herself short, laughing slightly, "Sorry! Dear me, I started wandering didn't I?"

[Lady Noctia]

"Heh, I don't mind, dear. I wander in my head all the time. I used to hop from city to city, like you, though a bit less purposefully. I've settled down with my own place now, thankfully."

Lady Noctia sat up gingerly and re-inspected her surroundings.

A piece of paper and a pen rested on a desk next to her bed. She tore off a piece and scribbled something down on it, then pressed the strip of paper into Akai's hands.

"If you get into a tight spot, let me know. This is one of my numbers, ask for Lady Noctia and they should put you through. I wish you well, dear."

[Akai Kaji]

"Will do, Noctia, I'll remember you." Akai put the paper in her pocket, coming away from the window and returning to the chair, "You still look a bit stiff and sore, but if your ready to get outta here, I'll lead the way."

[Lady Noctia]

Noctia turned a bit, wincing. Her lower ribcage was wrapped tightly with some sort of fabric brace. Grunting, she attempted to stand on her own two feet, and face Akai.
One knee wobbled for a moment, but she did succeed.
Heh... Totally disoriented, no transportation and bruised and broken all over. This should prove interesting.
She checked her pockets, and she still had her bag and knife, thank goodness.

"Alright. Lead the way"
She took a small step forward, her knee again wobbling, and started walking after Akai. Growing stronger with each step, it felt like. The sooner she was out of here, the better.

[Akai Kaji]

"Haha! Resilient are we? Well if you think you can make it to the front door without toppling, then lets go!" Akai laughed, heading out the door of the medical bay.

ooc: then I suppose it ends here or goes onto the front door of the DOTE if you wanna keep going

ooc: Well, as she's planning on going straight to the front door anyway, I don't think there's really any need to keep going XD;
And as Noctia'll probably wanna keep a low profile since she's all broken and whatnot... she may not pop up around da town for a wee bit.

[Peisinoe]

I shield my eyes from the harsh artificial lights as we enter the medbay. Everything looks so foreign to me, so…. man-made. I pause before stepping over the threshold. The floor is cold on my bare feet. The woman leads me to a bed and helps me to lift myself onto it. In amazement, I press my hand into it, and wonder at how soft it is, “Oh..” I sigh as it brings back a memory
I am back in my room, two years ago. The floors of wood glow warmly with light and my big windows face the western sky and the ocean. A cool breeze floats in through the open window, playing with loose strands of my hair while the last crimson lights of sunset kiss my cheek. I sit cross-legged on my bed smiling as I listened to Daddy sing me a lullaby for the last time.
“Down in the valley the valley so low

Every night he would sing that to me. My friends thought that it was weird that he still sang to me, sometimes even I thought that it was silly, but the day didn’t feel complete without it.
I come back to reality to find myself humming the tune and still staring at my hand pressed into the bed. “I’m sorry…” I look at the woman apologetically, “It’s just…” Finding I can’t finish the sentence, I just hang my head and pull at my torn peplos.

[Akai Kaji]

Akai placed a hand on her shoulder gently, smiling into her eyes, "Don't be sorry, go ahead and sing."
A doctor walked up, and Akai engaged him in medical speak, then she sat on the edge of the bed as the doctor started treating the woman's wounds.
"If you don't mind my asking... where are you from? You don't seem to be from around here," She laughed softly and unrealistically, "But then again, I haven't been around here long either. I came from Cold Rock, burned to the ground when I was young. Lost everything. You've lost a lot too haven't you? It's okay, you don't have to tell me, I know what it's like."
She stopped, a look of surprise on her face, "Oh! I'm sorry, I don't even know your name yet... I'm Akai."

[Peisinoe]

“Akai… It fits you… My name is Peisinoe… I’ve actually been here for, oh, I think two years now, but I don’t blame you for thinking that I’m new…” I chuckle half-heartedly, “I don’t exactly look like I belong here. Don’t really belong anywhere anymore. Ever since the Cleansers found out about me, I’ve been running… They took everything from me. My home, my life, my peace, even my father …. Only then did my foolish mother come to me, warning of the dangers I faced and bringing with her a curse. I once was complete, but she awoke the other half of me, and a need that may never be met…" I look at her apologetically, "listen, I can't stay here long... the longer I'm here, the more danger I put everyone in."

[Akai Kaji]

Akai nodded, "Alright, I'll get you out of here as soon as the doctor is done fixing you up. I could get you some new clothes too... those look pretty messed." Not really waiting for an answer, she pulled her knees up to her chest and kept talking, "Huh... can't say I belong anywhere either. But I'm trying to make a home for myself. I lost everything too, my family, my home, the entire world I knew burned down in one fire and left me alone. Well mostly alone, though I wouldn't consider a vengeful cousin much of anything." She shrugged, deciding to knock it off and give up on telling her own story. Peisinoe didn't need to hear her problems.
"Where are you heading after this, I could help you get there, maybe even stick around until you're doing better. I can fight, I could help keep those Cleansers off your trail for a few days."

[Peisinoe]

“Since you too have someone after you, you know why I have to go alone.” I touch one of my Epirotes pins, “Don’t worry about me; I’ll be fine. My attackers were only amateurs, otherwise I would be dead right now… Knowing that they were amateurs, I should be left alone long enough for me to heal… You’ve done enough for me already anyways…. Although I would definitely be thankful for a change of clothes; these rags aren’t going to last me even all the way home.” I pause for a moment, “How did that fire start? It seems more personal than you’re letting on… I don’t deny that it would become personal when it takes so much from you, but… there’s more to it than that, isn’t there?” Immediately appalled the insensitivity of my own words, I interject apologetically, “I’m sorry; I shouldn’t have asked that… Your past is none of my business.”

[Akai Kaji]

Akai turned her head towards the woman, a bit of shock crossed in her face, mixed up in the regret and pain in her eyes, "I didn't start the fire if that's what you're asking," She glanced at the doctor a moment, and she lowered her voice despite the fact he'd still be able to hear her, "I still haven't found them yet... the ones who did the crime."
The doctor excused himself and went to a cabinet to grab a clean set of clothes, handed it to Peisinoe, and left to attend to other patients.
"At least they're not hunting me down, but my luck, someone is itching for revenge of a nonexistent action I committed," She changed the subject abruptly, "Well, I can get you outta here as soon as your ready."

[Peisinoe]

OOC: I apologize for taking so long and for the short post. I have been too busy to do much else but work...
IC: I accept the clothes gratefully, my cheeks burning slightly. “I didn’t mean to be so rude… Living like I have for so long costs you tact when it comes to conversation.” Fiddling awkwardly with the clothes on my lap, I hang my head and let my long hair curtain my shame. “I should be on my way I suppose…. Thank you again for helping me; I promise I won’t forget it, and someday I will repay you. Now, if there’s somewhere that I could change…” I let it hang as a question. “Then I’ll be out of your hair.”

[Akai Kaji]

Akai nodded, pointing towards the bathroom, "You can change in there. I'll take you to the back door right after."
She stood up, resiting the urge to start pacing, "I don't suppose I have much tact either, conversation wise. Anyways... I'll wish you luck now instead of later."

[Peisinoe]

"Thanks" I slip into the bathroom and quickly change into the clothes I was given. The fabric feels foreign, but it serves it's purpose well enough. I unpin my Epirotes' from the remaining rags of my Peplos before stepping back out. Pushing my dark hair out of my eyes, I follow Akai as she begins to lead me back out.

ooc: oh whoops! I totally spaced out about posting. So uh... does this continue outside or have we peacefully parted ways?
